Lee Dixon

Meet the Founder

I was born and raised in the "small, but aristocratic town" of Ridgeway, SC - insert a little satire, and a lot of laughter!

Well … with that kind of beginning I saw the world in traditional and quite GRAND images. The truth is, just enjoying life is quite SIMPLE! My work and achievements have been just that, "from the simple, to the magnificent." - the tag line for Solomon & Sparrow in Highlands, NC modeled after my first design & antique shop Songbird on Sunday, located in San Diego, CA.

With projects spanning almost 4 decades my work is filled with wonderful experiences, bringing a very personal and unique approach to the design process. My early achievements began with invitations to Ringling College of Art and Design, and North Carolina School of the Arts. After years as a lead visual coordinator for a national fine furniture retailer, I accepted a position as the principal designer for a local fine furniture distributor. Through those experiences, my designs temper the scale and drama of the visual arts with the beauty and precision of classical architectural forms.

My apprenticeship and studies with Mission Gallery in San Diego, CA began a tenure in advisory roles throughout the art and design community. From Mission Gallery to serving as a Registrar for Carolina Conservation - Fine Arts Conservation Studio in Irmo, SC - my approach to the placement and care of fine art, both historic and modern, provides directives that enhance the design goals and visions of every client.

My work has been published and I am honored to be trusted by so many amazing clients. Foremost, my work is ALWAYS about the client, and how to achieve their vision.

The peaceful rolling hills of North Carolina are home base, where I enjoy a simple life. I am an equestrian, lover of the trees, the mountains and everything forest. I am a craftsman and textile conservationist, an artist at times, a musician and composer. It is always obvious (everywhere I happen to be) that I have a passion for design, and a love for sharing the arts, cultural studies and my music talents with everyone.

THE TEAM

Angel Dixon

Director of Operations

I am a C Squared graduate of Columbia College Class of 2004, native South Carolinian, wife, mother, and avid reader. My experiences with South Carolina DHEC regulations as Director of Operations for multiple day care programs within the child care system of South Carolina honed my understanding of corporate bylaws and legal business procedures required to develop policies across multiple industries.

I bring my expertise in business administration from those experiences to increase the productivity and efficiency of our operations. My goal is to maintain strong relationships with our business partners and ultimately provide our clients with the highest level of quality control and customer satisfaction. This includes keeping my husband focused on creating beautiful interiors, leaving business matters in the office where they belong.

I am a Charlotte native with a lifelong passion for interior design and creating spaces that feel both beautiful and intentional. After earning my Associate of Arts in Interior Design, I discovered that what I enjoy most is helping clients transform ideas into spaces that truly feel like home. I believe the best designs are timeless, functional, and thoughtfully tailored to the people who live in them.

As a Design Editor, I love bringing ideas to life through visuals that help clients see the full potential of their spaces. There’s something incredibly rewarding about taking a vision and turning it into an image that captures the feeling, style, and personality of a home before it becomes a reality. My goal is to create inspiring visuals that make the design process exciting, collaborative, and easy to imagine from the very beginning.

When I’m not "deep in the throws" of creating visuals, you’ll usually find me exploring new places, reading, or discovering new restaurants. I believe inspiration can be found almost anywhere, and I enjoy bringing those experiences into my work to create spaces that are as personal as they are beautiful.
